Jantar Mantar
Book Now
The Jantar Mantar is an observatory built in 1710 by the great astronomer of the erstwhile era Raja Jai Singh II of Jaipur (1699-1743) in Delhi. This monument stands at higher strata in terms of the scientific approach incorporated in structuring architecture in the history of India. This fine monument consisting of mason-built astronomical instruments was primarily meant to chart the course of the heavenly bodies. Jai Singh, who was a very scholarly king with a very keen interest in astronomy and astrology, founded other fine observatories too – in Ujjain, Jaipur, Mathura (which no longer survives) and Varanasi.Jantar Mantar is amongst the world famous Monuments of Delhi.
Qutub Minar
Being amongst the world famous Monuments places in delhi this high towering Qutub Minar, was started to be built in 1192 by Qutub-ud-din Aibak (1192-98) down the neck of the Quwwat-ul-Islam mosque. There is a slight difference of opinion as to its purpose amongst historians: it probably was a tower of victory, but then again it is rationalized to have been built to be a minar (tower), attached to the Quwwat-ul-Islam mosque, for the muezzin (priest) to climb up top to offer prayers.
Humayun’s tomb
An example of incredible ancient Indian architecture this tomb is one of the most popular Historical Monuments in Delhi India.Humayun's tomb was primarily built to serve as the tomb of the Mughal Emperor Humayun to bury his mortal remains by his first wife Bega Begum (Hajji Begum) in 1569-70.The architecture was designed by Mirak Mirza Ghiyath, a Persian architect and was the first garden-tomb of its kind on the Indian subcontinent. This awesome tomb is located in Nizamuddin East, Delhi, India, close to Purana Qila (Old Fort), that Humayun himself founded in 1533.Being the first structure to use red sandstone at a massive scale this tomb was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993.The architecture has an exterior arch of Humayun's Tomb, showing niches on two levels. The beauty of the tomb lies in the extensive geometrical sandstone and marble pietre dura inlay patterns over the entrance iwan or high arc, and the chhatris and small minarets that surround the white marble central dome.
Lodi Gardens
Lodi garden is although is a renowned park in Delhi, India spread over 90 acres but it houses several world famous monuments in Delhi as well , much relevant historicallylike Mohammed Shah's Tomb, Sikander Lodi's Tomb, Sheesh Gumbad and Bara Gumbad. All these are the architectural works of the 15th century Sayyid and Lodis, a Pashtun dynasty which ruled much of Northern India during the 16th century. The entire garden site has now been protected by the Archeological Survey of India (ASI).The gardens is lush green and also is a paradise for bird watchers as several migratory and local birds gather and perch on the tall trees here.
Alai Minar
The ambitious rubble Alai Minar was the result of the architectural aspiration of Alauddin Khalji but the sultan lived to see it only the height of 24.5m. It was built to match the enlarged Quwwat-ul-Islam masjid (which was also Khalji's work) near the qutab minar. Today it is used more like an illustration,of what-happens-when-one gets over ambitious; viz the plans remain unfinished.Over- Ambition has never really been encouraged as a virtue in India.Alai minar today is reckoned amongst the world famous Monuments of Delhi.

Alai Darwaza
Book Now
The southern gateway of the Quwwat-ul-Islam mosque was extended further by Alauddin Khalji in 1311. The Alai Darwaza is believed to be first through and through Islamic building in character, architecture and ornamentation. Its construction is painstakingly accurate, symmetrical, orderly, the decoration are politically correct geometric designs and is a typical Khali building. It displays a certain Seljuqian influence, like in the huge dome with a central knob, pointed arches shaped like horseshoes, and the 'lotus-bud' fringes of the arches, all with perfect finishing. It is one of the finest and most exquisite monument places in Delhi.
Delhi Gate
Book Now
Being the southern gate of one of the many gates of the historic walled city of Delhi this typical gateway is the route to connect the New Delhi city with the old walled city of Delhi.Situated in the middle of the road, at the end of Netaji Subhash Chandra Road, in Daryaganj this gate is yet another evidence of the mighty mughal architectures as it was also the creation of mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1638. It was built as part of the rubble–built high fort walls that encircled the city of Shahajahanabad or Shahjahan’s Delhi, and is similar in design and architecture to the northern gate of the walled city, the Kashmiri Gate (1853)
